Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan, officially known as the Republic of Kazakhstan, is a transcontinental country located in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. It is the world's largest landlocked country by land area, spanning over 2.7 million square kilometers. The country shares borders with Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, as well as a coastline along the Caspian Sea.
Kazakhstan gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 and has since developed into a major economy in the region, primarily due to its abundant reserves of oil, natural gas, and minerals. The capital city is Nur-Sultan, while Almaty is the largest city and a major cultural and economic center.
Kazakhstan is known for its diverse landscape, ranging from the rugged mountains of the Tian Shan range to the vast steppes and deserts that cover much of the country. The population is ethnically diverse, with significant communities of Kazakhs, Russians, Uzbeks, and Uighurs, among others.
The country is a member of numerous international organizations, including the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Kazakhstan has also played a key role in promoting regional stability and economic cooperation in Central Asia.
