Bouvet Island is an uninhabited island located in the South Atlantic Ocean. It is a territory of Norway and is situated approximately 1,700 kilometers southwest of the Cape of Good Hope. The island is known for its harsh climate, with most of its surface covered by glaciers. Bouvet Island is a nature reserve and was designated as a protected area in 1971.
