Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein, officially known as the Principality of Liechtenstein, is a small doubly landlocked German-speaking microstate situated in the heart of Europe, bordered by Switzerland to the west and south and Austria to the east and north. With an area of just over 160 square kilometers and a population of approximately 39,000 people, Liechtenstein is one of the smallest countries in the world. The capital and largest city is Vaduz.
Despite its size, Liechtenstein boasts a highly developed economy with a strong focus on financial services, being known as a tax haven. The country has a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system and is one of the few remaining monarchies in Europe. Liechtenstein is famous for its stunning mountain scenery, including the iconic Vaduz Castle perched on a hill overlooking the capital.
Liechtenstein is a member of the United Nations and the European Free Trade Association, but it is not a member of the European Union. The country is known for its political stability, low crime rate, and high standard of living. Liechtenstein is also a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors with its picturesque villages, hiking trails, and ski resorts.
