India to actively promote CBDC…maintains high tax rates on virtual assets
Joe Biden has revoked an executive order by Donald Trump that called for “classical” federal architecture to be the default style for new buildings. Mr Trump’s order promoted classical designs, such as those found in ancient Greece and Rome. But in an order signed on Friday, Mr Biden said the US government should pursue a more inclusive and diverse vision for its buildings.
Mr Biden did not mention his predecessor in the order, but the revocation is one of several measures that erase Mr Trump’s policies.
What does the order say?
The executive order said the US government “should embody the principles of federal architecture while also sharing the United States’ rich diversity”. It said “classical and traditional architectural styles have been promoted . . . over the past 16 years” to the exclusion of all others.
The order said that policies going back to 1962 called “for a preference for traditional Federal architecture”.
