Republic of North Macedonia
The Republic of North Macedonia, commonly referred to as North Macedonia, is a country located in Southeast Europe. It is bordered by Kosovo to the northwest, Serbia to the north, Bulgaria to the east, Greece to the south, and Albania to the west. Its capital and largest city is Skopje.
North Macedonia gained its independence in 1991 following the breakup of Yugoslavia. The official language is Macedonian.

In 2019, North Macedonia officially changed its name from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia following a landmark agreement with Greece, resolving a long-standing dispute between the two countries. The country is a candidate for membership in the European Union and NATO.
