Gibraltar
Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It is bordered to the north by Spain. With an area of just 6.7 square kilometers, Gibraltar is known for its iconic landmark, the Rock of Gibraltar, a monolithic limestone promontory rising 426 meters above sea level.
Gibraltar has a population of approximately 34,000 people, made up of a diverse mix of both Gibraltarians and expatriates. The official language is English, and the currency is the Gibraltar pound, which is pegged to the British pound sterling.
As a strategic location at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea, Gibraltar has a long history of military significance. Today, it is a major shipping hub and a popular tourist destination known for its unique blend of British and Mediterranean cultures, as well as its duty-free shopping and stunning views from the Rock.
