Tajikistan
Tajikistan, officially known as the Republic of Tajikistan, is a landlocked country in Central Asia. It is bordered by Afghanistan to the south, Uzbekistan to the west, Kyrgyzstan to the north, and China to the east. The capital and largest city of Tajikistan is Dushanbe.
With a population of over 9 million people, Tajikistan is predominantly mountainous, with the Pamir Mountains covering much of the country. The economy relies heavily on agriculture and remittances from Tajik migrant workers abroad.
Tajikistan gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 and has since faced challenges related to political instability and economic development. The country is known for its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning natural landscapes, making it a popular destination for tourists interested in trekking, mountain climbing, and exploring ancient Silk Road sites.
